Temperature and Reflectance

Surface Reflectance (upcoming)

The time series of Sentinel-3 Top-Of-Canopy (TOC) reflectance, from June 2018 to the present, have been processed with a new version of the pre-processing chain and using the newly reprocessed OLCI L1B frames. An exhaustive validation was performed.

The Top-Of-Canopy (TOC) reflectance refers to the portion of the incident energy reflected by the surface in a given spectral band and without atmospheric interferences. The Sentinel-3 TOC reflectance product contains the OLCI and SLSTR spectral reflectances. They are derived from OLCI and SLSTR L1B frames using a common pre-preprocessing chain which includes pixel classification, co-registration, reprojection, resampling and atmospheric correction. The resulting OLCI and SLSTR TOC reflectances, corresponding to each sensor acquisition, are provided in a common regular latitude/longitude grid with spatial resolution of about 300 m at the equator.

After the deployment of the v2.3 in NRT operations on 1st March, the public release of the Sentinel-3 TOC reflectance v2.3 time series is scheduled for Q2 2025.
